and various 2000AD specials released over the years..
|
Q. What is 2000AD?
A. 2000AD is a long running British weekly anthology
comic. The name "Toothwatch" is derived
from the affectionate nickname, "Tooth",
fans have given to the comic.
|
Q. What kind of content can I find on Toothwatch?
A. Release Listings :
Every week the regular Toothwatch listing details
what comics will be shipped to speciality comic
shops by Diamond Distribution. Comics normally arrive
in stores on a Wednesday in America, and the following
day, Thursday, in the UK. Our listings are dated
for the Thursday, the day UK readers can get their
comics.
The Toothwatch listing is also available on the
alt.comics.2000ad
newsgroup, either through your news server, or Google
and by Email through the Toothwatch
Yahoo Group.
News :
A News section also
runs on the website, which will carry general news
on 2000AD and The Megazine, as well as news on creator's
work for other comics.
Creator Database :
The Creator
Database lists the creators followed
by Toothwatch and gives details of what work they
have done for 2000AD, The Judge Dredd Megazine,
or any other 2000AD titles.
The creator listing pages also have links to official
websites where possible, and feature "recommended
reading" links, leading to the artist or writer's
other works.
|
Q. What notable creators are followed by Toothwatch?
A. We try to cover virtually everyone who has
ever worked on 2000AD or The Megazine, meaning that
the focus is generally on British writers and artists.
DC Comics in America have also ran two Judge Dredd
series, titled "Judge Dredd" and "Judge
Dredd : Legends Of The Law". Although neither
series is particularly fondly remembered by 2000AD
fans, some writers and artists who contributed to
the DC series are followed here, most notably Michael
Avon Oeming.
There are no firm and fast rules for which creators
are features, but generally, anyone who has written
or drawn an original strip for 2000AD or The Megazine
is included.
|
Q. Can I discuss the comics listed in Toothwatch
anywhere?
A. Yes, in several places in fact. alt.comics.2000ad
is probably where the majority of discussion takes
place. Also, the Toothwatch mailing list can be
used for discussion.
|
Q. How can I subscribe to the mailing list?
